North Leeds Charity Beer Festival

The North Leeds Charity Beer Festival was set up in April 2012 by the Rotary Club of Roundhay with the help of British Guild of Beer Writers member Sam Parker, to not only raise much needed funds for local charities but to challenge the idea that these local festivals are the sole domain of the bearded beer ticker.

This years festival will see drinkers choose between 18 Yorkshire and 18 Scottish cask ales in a fight to see who comes out on top and with offerings from Caledonian, Leeds, Harviestoun, Ridgeside, Williams Bros & Magic Rock breweries to name but a few the debate should definitely be lively!!

There really is something for everyone at this festival with a large selection of world and fruit beers being supplied by the renowned Bier Huis of Ossett to tempt even the most dismissive of palates and award winning pies & pasties will be supplied by Wilsons of Crossgates alongside Mr Scratchings famous nibbles and snacks.
That, you\’d think, would be more than enough to fill the largest of local halls, and you\’d be right, but with St Aidan\’s being a two-halled venue this allows us to put on some fantastic live music alongside a quiet area at all sessions. Blues Positive are back by popular demand to headline Friday night along with the renowned local act Bill\’s Elastic Band and we have a great 6 act line up on the Saturday to include a \”not-to-be-missed\” acoustic set by the great bluesman Chris Martin, original material from the Bluesharks and another chance to see the Moonshine 5.

With the chance to catch 8 fantastic bands whilst tasting 32 of the finest cask ales available today, some new and exclusive, alongside some of the best bottled beer in Europe and award winning cuisine can you afford not to attend.

SO DRINK BEER FOR CHARITY !!
